Zoe Carter is a fictional character in the American science fiction drama Eureka. The character is played by Jordan Hinson.
Zoe is Jack Carter's daughter. She is intelligent, attractive, independent, popular, and not afraid to get money for a new job (she was impersonating a flight attendant before ending up in Eureka) to get the attention she feels she needs from her parents. She blames her father's demanding job for the breakup of her family. She has recently arrived back in Eureka and moved in with her father — a move which surprised him, but which he did not block, knowing it would do no good, and would only cause her to become even more rebellious.
Despite living in Eureka only because her father works there (and in a non-scientific position to boot), Zoe has been portrayed as intelligent enough to keep up with the town's rigorous and eclectic academic standards. In the alternate future shown in "Once in a Lifetime", she is valedictorian of her high school class. She has an I.Q. of 157, although she told her father her score was a 112 after learning he only scored a 111 on his I.Q. test. She was 15 years old at the end of Season 1.
According to the Season 3 premiere, she has a GPA of 4.0. She works part-time job at Café Diem and will graduate from high school.
Her birthday is April 8, 1991.
After Allison gives birth to her daughter, Jenna Stark, Zoe expresses an interest in medicine. She takes a career test at school to see which type of Medicine would be best, but the test revels that robotics is her most suited career. Lucas, her boyfriend, wants Zoe to pursue robotics so that they can go to MIT together since MIT does not have a medical school. She ends up choosing med school after she saves everyone at Café Diem. She has a B- average from Tesla but that means an A+ anywhere else. She received early acceptance to Harvard after a letter of recommendation from Henry. At the end of season 3, she and Lucas go off to Massachusetts to begin their college education at Harvard and MIT, respectively.
In season 4, when Jack goes to visit her at college, it is implied that Zoe has dumped Lucas and is enjoying single life at college, something which Jack is not happy about when he sees several boys looking at her. However, he is forced to admit that she has grown up and he is proud of her. It is later revealed that she has not dumped Lucas, but their relationship is on the rocks.
Zoe returns to visit Eureka during the episode Stoned, and remains in town for a while after being petrified. It is revealed that she is having a relationship with Zane Donovan, despite not having officially broken up with Lucas, who has gone to CERN. This greatly upsets both her father and Jo, though Jo admits that she cannot blame Zoe for stealing her ex-boyfriend since, due to the temporal realignment, as far as Zoe knows they hate each other and would never dream of dating.
However, Zoe found out about Jo and Zane having a relationship in Omega Girls and argued with Jo about the situation. Because of the Consortium taking control of GD, she and Jo worked together to wake everyone up and save the files. At the end of the ordeal, she let Jo talk to Zane to show she accepts their relationship despite her confusion. Jack tells his experience in traveling to 1947 to her to answer her questions.
